Medical Writer Jobs
A medical writer job opening may be available with a publisher, health care agency, or government health department. A medical writer is responsible for writing articles or booklets in different areas of medical science for the purpose of creating awareness or education. Specific duties of a medical writer position include gathering information on the subject from various available sources, coordinating with department personnel, staying updated on the subject, discussing with medical personnel in order to gain insight on the subject, understanding the needs of the clients, maintaining conceptual precision, assisting the writing manager, delivering on deadlines and performing other tasks as required. A medical writer typically reports to writing manager.
A medical writer should have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Prior exposure to medical or writing field is beneficial. Excellent writing skills are essential.
