Reporter / Writer Jobs
A reporter writer position may be available with a news agency or a media agency. A reporter writer is responsible for reporting and writing a variety of news and feature stories originated by the reporter or assigned by the editor; writing stories accurately, concisely and keeping them interesting; developing ideas for news, feature and enterprise stories; working on investigative and explanatory projects; building a network of sources for gaining quick and reliable information; developing expertise in subject matter; working independently as well as under supervision; visiting places of current events importance; assigning photographs and finding the appropriate places for provision of graphics support; working on special projects assigned by the supervisor and performing several other tasks as required. A reporter writer typically reports to a writing manager.
A reporter writer should have an associate’s degree or a bachelor’s degree in a relevant area. Excellent relationship building skills and excellent grammatical ability are essential.
