Senior Writer Jobs
A senior writer position may be available with an editorial department, media agency, online marketing firm, publishing company, or an ITES company. A senior writer is responsible for writing premium or prestigious articles to be published for company or clients’ products or websites. Specific duties of a senior writer include imparting training to junior writers, making other writers familiar with various practices and procedures in the organization, working on several projects simultaneously, understanding client requirements, studying the area on which the matter has to be produced, writing drafts and proofreading them, approving the work of others, meeting project deadlines, and performing other tasks assigned by the writing manager. A senior writer reports to a writing manager.
A senior writer should have an associate’s degree or a bachelor’s degree in journalism or mass communications. Excellent writing skills are essential. Several years of experience working as a writer is generally required. Strong proficiency with use of Microsoft Word is essential.
