The primary function of the Technical Writer is to design, develop and maintain internal procedural documents, training material and related media that maximizes user productivity, accuracy and learning.
Develop and maintain procedures that comply with department standards.
Gather and respond to user feedback to drive continuous improvement.
Possess the ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments and meet numerous, competing deadlines.
Coordinate resources, subject matter experts, internal business owners, and users to verify and assist in creating and maintaining documentation.
Write and distribute clear and concise communications for internal and external clients.
Work with various lines of business to determine how upcoming projects will impact user’s procedures and processes.
Provide reporting, insight, and recommendations for process improvement.
Create continuous learning materials to enhance user knowledge.
Previous payment/financial services industry experience.
Ability to multitask and change direction in ever changing payment processing environment.
Effective planning and organizational skills.
Highly motivated to succeed in a performance driven environment.
Ability to work effectively with staff at all levels of the organization, including conducting fact-finding interviews with subject matter experts (SMEs).
Experience with MadCap Flare or similar single sourcing tool.
2-4 years of experience in technical writing, producing training or procedural documents in a professional environment.
Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Communication, English, Journalism or related field.
Proficient in the following programs; SharePoint, MS Word, MS Excel and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
Superior typing accuracy and formatting ability.
Must possess excellent proof reading and grammatical skills, and strong attention to detail.
Must have superior written and verbal communication skills with an excellent command of English grammar and usage.
Ability to work independently as well as work in a collaborative, multi-functional team.
Microsoft Office Suite
Infrequent travel may be occasionally required for training or meetings.
