This position is part of the Materials and Structural Analysis Division headquartered in Hillsboro, Oregon, which designs, manuÂfactures, and supports high-performance microscopy workflows. In this position, you will join the Technical Publications team in producing microscopy software documentation for use in the life sciences, materials science, and semiconductor industries.
Write, review, and edit documentation for electron microscope systems and software.
Create, edit, and maintain customer-facing documents in line with the level of education of the end user. Documents include user guides, release notes, and context-sensitive online help.
Conduct interviews with subject matter experts to gather and organize source material for documentation.
Research and translate technical information into customer-facing documents for non-technical and technical users.
Evaluate existing publications for quality, relevancy, and accuracy.
Adapt to multiple projects with changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
Participate in content strategy planning and information architecture implementation.
BS/BA in Technical Writing, Communication, English, or related field, or the equivalent combination of experience and education.
10 years of technical writing experience
Professional experience in science, technology, or computer industry.
Experience with Microsoft Office 365, Teams, and SharePoint.
Experience developing software documentation including user manuals, release notes, and online help systems.
Demonstrated creativity and flexibility with changing project deadlines.
History of developing positive relationships with strong interpersonal skills.
Preference for candidates who can demonstrate successful project work in cross-functional and cross-cultural international work teams.
Demonstrated attention to detail.
Excellent understanding of the English language, both verbal and written.
MadCap software suite (Flare, Analyzer, and Contributor).
Strong HTML and CSS.
Source control, preferably Git.
Agile software development lifecycle.
Content strategy and management.
