Title : Technical\u00a0 Writer\r
W2 Contract for 6 months (This is a project based role so while it is budgeted for 6 months it could be shorter. Also average hours a week will be 20 hours, but that might be more or less depending on SMEs and waiting on information from them. Candidates need to be local to Ashland/Richmond, VA for this role, however candidates can work remote once up to speed).\r
Core Responsibilities: \r
\u2022 Responsible for working with IT Applications Personnel and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to document and publish changes to existing content in the User Instruction Manuals as part of a software upgrade project.\r
\u2022 Support the software upgrade project and SMEs by applying appropriate document standards, style guide criteria and ensuring terminology consistency across all documents.\r
\u2022 Collaborate with IT Applications Personnel and SMEs to compare existing instruction content to software upgrade and identify required documentation changes.\r
\u2022 Draft and submit content updates in User Instruction Manuals to SMEs for approval, commit all changes and publish final documents in adherence to project timelines.\r
\u2022 Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience. Experience Requirements:\r
\u2022 2 years of experience in technical writing of software documentation \u2022 Ability to deliver high quality, detailed documentation\r
\u2022 Ability to quickly grasp business & system process requirements and make them easily understandable in text and pictures\r
\u2022 Excellent written skills in English\r
\u2022 Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office \u2022 SharePoint and Snagit experience preferred\r
\u2022 Bachelor's degree in English, Writing, or Technical field \u00a0\r
