Position Description
The Social Media Specialist will plan and execute communication activities that will effectively deliver timely, strategic social media messages to internal and external audiences on a variety of platforms, elevating the organizational reputation and raising awareness of services of the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for social media content on a variety of HCSO platforms, including, but not limited to, Twitter, Facebook, Next Door, LinkedIn, YouTube and Instagram Develops and publishes social media content according to editorial calendars and current events Ensures that business objectives are supported through high-quality social media communication pieces Shoots and edits photo and video content for social media use Plans, implements and refines digital communication strategies and tactics that will effectively deliver messages to internal and external audiences Elevates the organizational reputation and raise awareness of service Translates strategy and printed content into relevant digital content Prioritizes and manages a high volume workload in a high-volume environment in order to meet deadlines Complies with all civil services, departmental, and bureau rules, regulations, and standard operation procedures Performs other assignments and duties as required and/or necessary
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, or related fields; and, a minimum of one (1) full year of verifiable work experience in digital communications; or, Associate's degree in the same fields and three(3) years of verifiable work experience in digital communications; or, High School diploma or G.E.D. and five (5) years of verifiable work experience in digital communications Must have experience with current and emerging social media platforms Must be highly proficient in verbal and written communications with excellent grammar, diction and punctuation Must possess strong proofreading and editing skills with an eye for detail Strong project and time management/organizational skills Must be energetic, creative, and detail oriented Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment Demonstrate strong project improvement and team leadership abilities Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion Ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff A valid driver's license (Texas upon hire) and ability to drive a county vehicle to events or other county locations as required
