The Marketing Specialist-Writer is a marketing lead. Develops and implements strategic marketing plans, as well as coordinates and implements assigned marketing projects. Writes marketing materials. Performs miscellaneous department functions.
Education: Bachelors Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required in Marketing, Journalism, Liberal Arts, Communication or a related field.
Experience: One (1) year of experience writing/editing or marketing for the media, corporation or institution.
Experience: Healthcare communications/marketing experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of print and broadcast news gathering procedures; extensive knowledge of journalistic and feature writing styles. Demonstrated strong writing skills, publications editing, grammar, spelling and punctuation. Word processing skills required. Some knowledge of 35mm and digital photography/scanning. Some knowledge of health care industry, plus advertising and promotion.
READING - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
WRITING - Intermediate: Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, or procedures.
SPEAKING - Intermediate: Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group situations or before groups of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Basic Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY - Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
