The Senior Advancement Writer will write, edit and collaborate on principal level gift proposals and provide creative writing support to the university’s fundraising efforts. This position will be responsible for identifying stories across the university and ensuring those stories are being shared with alumni, parents and current and prospective donors to encourage philanthropic support for UCF. The Advancement Writer will serve as the media relations liaison and writer for media releases on major gifts, working in collaboration with the University’s Central Communications and Marketing department. This position will also collaborate with college and unit based development and communications staff members.\rWrites, edits and collaborates on principal level gift proposals.\rServes as media relations liaison to UCF Central marketing and news team and writes UCF Advancement media releases on major gifts.\rResearches and writes compelling news items, Q&As, profiles, event recaps, and related content that showcase UCF’s students, alumni, and faculty and help to make the case for philanthropic support.\rWrites and edits content for print and web materials, as well as revising existing content for messages to reach a target audience.\rProvides strategic review, copy-editing, and proofreading of content written by other team members to ensure adherence to grammatical and brand standards.\rReviews market and institutional research, economic data, trend information, and other relevant material to inform and influence rich content and messages.\rDrafts, edits and proofreads speech and video scripts.\rPrepares division and department communications, and other related materials as needed.\rManages multiple writing projects simultaneously by establishing goals, coordinating with cross-functional team members and support staff, and guiding deliverables to completion.\rCritical features of this job are described above.
