Salesforce Kernel Cloud, which is part of the Core Engineering team of Tech & Products, is focused on building a world-class engineering environment, where engineers are productive, agile, innovative, and empowered with easy-to-use tools.
As the Core Platform writer, you'll document internal concepts, tools, and processes for Salesforce engineers. That means:
Asking plenty of questions so you understand not just how something works, but why it matters to the people using it.
Knowing how to restructure and curate existing documentation to make it discoverable and cohesive, including recognizing and being willing to delete content that's not useful.
Serving as the voice of our users and figuring out the best way to get them the information they need when and where they need it.
Finding ways of connecting with the people who use the docs to get their feedback and make improvements.
Our ideal team member:
Has experience writing for developers (and perhaps having been one), with strong writing samples to prove it.
Isn't intimidated by architects and tech leads, and is willing to keep asking probing questions until they understand well enough to explain it to everyone else.
Has the flexibility and openness to adopt our team's style, processes, and practices, but isn't afraid to suggest improvements that will benefit our writers, our collaborators, and our engineers.
Enjoys working closely as part of a team, and has the people and communication skills to do that well, and can also carve out focused time in a busy day to get work done independently.
Has worked in an Agile software development environment and is comfortable participating in cross-functional team meetings.
