Our Client, a Global Fortune 500 Financial Services Company, is looking for a Technical Writer to work in their Phoenix, AZ office in a long term Temporary position.
The Technical Writer will document and maintain standard operating procedures for Small Business Relationship Management and Business Development employees in a fast-paced, deadline-driven corporate environment. Additionally they act as librarians for supporting business documents. Responsible for logic flow and gap analysis, adherence to internal styles and standards, and for following complex, tightly controlled processes. We expect all Dedicated Writers to be well organized, attentive to detail, flexible, and competent in a fast-paced, deadline-driven corporate environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Revise or create procedures from multiple resources, including but not limited to, documentation provided by the lines of business, process mapping, SME interviews and job shadowing, and other types of material.
Partner with Subject Matter Experts to ensure that procedures accurately reflect current processes and controls established within each department.
Maintain on-line repository, posting new/updated procedures as needed. Archive master files and iterative versions for record retention purpose.
Balance conflicting demands to support scheduled work as well as urgent ad hoc requests.
Coordinates procedure work with forward thinking approach
Assesses impacts from change requests, assigns work, and monitors unassigned work for requirements
Actively monitors pipeline to ensure deadlines are met
Completes ad-hoc reporting, quality review (for compliance approvals), fulfills research requests, and writing assignments (as needed)
Escalate issues that arise with clients, work load, tools, and processes. Routine administration including status reports, training and education, routine department and 1:1 meetings.
Own process mapping and testing in partnership with the quality control group for Small Business.
Is able to undertake new, different, and/or unfamiliar assignments and tasks as needed to support business partners

Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
Note: A Bachelor’s degree in technical writing, communications, education or business is preferred.
Two years’ experience in technical writing, specializing in standard operating procedures required.
Basic understanding of structured writing techniques, templates, style guides, and file management Technical Aptitude Ability to quickly learn software and web application skills
Knowledge of Technical writing conventions and methodology (Info-mapping is an example).
Ability to work effectively within an environment of conflicting priorities and demands. Must be able to quickly grasp the mechanics of a job function and synthesize the new knowledge into existing parameters.
Must be able to communicate with all levels of employees including the end-user, project teams, operation managers, and control partners
Strong time management, problem solving, and prioritization skills.
Must be able to make independent decisions based on known criteria impact of decisions
Proficient in applications such as; MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
Intermediate to Advanced SharePoint 2010/2013
