We are looking for a talented Technical Writer to help create and build out a modern documentation and user assistance infrastructure. You will be a core part of the product management team working closely with engineering to create resources that accelerate onboarding and contributes to a culture where consistency and quality are highly valued.

Work you'll do

Work with product managers, product marketing, and engineers to produce and maintain professional documentation, including: SOPs, Integration Guides, API Developer Guides

Build and maintain aids that go beyond traditional documentation, such as online video, demos, guided tours, and other educational techniques.

Learn complex concepts and communicate the information in a way that is engaging and understood by novices.

Write, format, edit, review, and proof procedural and technical information for technical and nontechnical users.

Act as an editor to ensure consistency in documentation

Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents, including software and systems engineering, system operations and testing.

Gather and analyze technical and product information from various sources to document new or changing product functionality.

Maintain a library of application documentation, cataloging it for internal and/or external use.

Publish and maintain style guides and templates for written documentation produced by others (technical specifications, RFP responses, etc.), ensuring a consistent visual identity and tone.

Examples of Technical Writer responsibilities

Plan, develop, organize, write, and edit operational procedures and manuals

Research, develop and document technical design specifications

Produce electronic documentation

Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation

Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content

Manage updates and revisions to technical literature

Qualifications

Required:

3 years technical writing and single-source publishing experience

Strong English written and verbal communication skills

Excellent writing and proofreading skills

Strong experience owning an end-to-end documentation creation process

Experience creating infographics to communicate workflow processes and abstract topics clearly.

Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Background knowledge of technical platforms and languages (examples: Java, JavaScript, Rest APIs, Python)

Experience with Documentation Publishing Software (example: Adobe Acrobat, Camtasia Studio, Adobe Captivate, FrameMaker, Photoshop, Robohelp, Snagit, and Visio)

Preferred:

Prior experience working with Agile/Scrum software product development teams

Atlassian tools (Jira and Confluence)
