Are you interested in equity research? Do you have a passion for helping achieve outstanding client results and satisfaction? We are Hartland, an independent wealth advisory firm located in downtown Cleveland, Ohio and were seeking an analytical, multi-tasking SENIOR EQUITY RESEARCH ANALYST. This position is responsible for supporting various departments of the firm researching and analyzing market data and making recommendations to managing directors and consultants based on such research and analysis for purposes of providing sound investment and financial counsel to clients.

The ideal candidate will:

Provide research coverage for all products within assigned asset class. Research coverage may include, but is not limited to:

oConducts quarterly performance and attribution assessments of all strategies within assigned asset class

oConducts quarterly interviews with senior portfolio management officials at third party fund families to discuss attribution anomalies

oCreates written reports (quarterly and annually) for all strategies within assigned asset class

oForms an opinion and makes recommendations on assigned products

oActs as liaison between money managers/mutual funds families and Hartland Management as needed

Conduct economic and market research and analysis

Help form tactical positioning and decision making

Support, advises and makes recommendations to consultants on client-servicing issues

Participate on client calls when necessary as a subject matter expert

Improve the departments use of technology in the day-to-day operations by monitoring the performance of manager ratings and the manager database

Complete other duties as assigned

We seek the following qualifications:

5 years of related experience within an investment firm

Advanced Finance Degree or MBA required

CFA designation preferred

Strong analytical skills, exhibits great attention to detail and has the ability to think strategically


ability to work under pressure, organize and manage multiple priorities in a demanding environment where time management, attention to detail, follow-through and meeting deadlines are critical


demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; written and verbal

Strong computer proficiency (e.g. Word, Excel, Adobe and Outlook)

Experience in writing and editing business development materials as well as creating and working with spreadsheets, charts and graphs

Strong team player and be able to interact with staff at all levels of the organization
