Immediate contract opportunity for Training Specialist / Technical Writer with direct client in Baltimore, MD. Trigyn's direct government client (healthcare) has a VERY LONG TERM contract assignment (36 Months ) for Training Specialist / Technical Writer in Baltimore, MD. NOTE: Experience working with HEALTHCARE industry related software products REQUIRED!! Duties / Responsibilities: â€¢ Researches, writes, edits, and proofreads complex application usage documents or sections of documents such as manuals, procedures and specifications to provide users with clear and actionable information regarding technical areas of the documents in a non-technical way. â€¢ Determines the scope and timeline of new documentation projects in order to plan projects, closely works with the agencyâ€™s training department and IT Project Management Office (PMO). â€¢ Coordinates project plans with the PMO lead and the agency Training Manager, interviews technical and business personnel to understand and develop documentation requirements. â€¢ Researches documentation and design notes and uses computer based training or company technical products to gather and research complex technical information for use in preparing documentation. â€¢ Writes, organizes, enters and compiles complex online help files to support training needs of the end users. â€¢ Creates, compiles, and delivers complex system/software developmental documentation packages including, but not limited to narratives, logic diagrams, inputs and outputs samples, inputs preparation instructions, job setup information, etc., from technical project team inputs, system requirements analysis, system design specifications, technical system design, technical procedure development, configuration control requirements, test and training specifications, and programming notes. â€¢ Assists in establishing style guidelines and standards for texts and illustrations to meet business needs. â€¢ Designs, develops and implements training needs through ongoing development and implementation training initiatives. â€¢ Designs, develops, implements, and modifies learning solutions when performance gap in day-to-day system usage warrants training. â€¢ Recommends and assists with the design, development and implementation of user training materials, job aids, user manuals, online help/assistance materials and e-learning solutions to meet agencyâ€™s training needs. â€¢ Recommends learning solutions to reduce overall training time and dependency on instructor-led classroom delivery. â€¢ Supports projects from a training perspective. â€¢ Ensures completed training deliverables are reviewed and approved by business stakeholders and ongoing changes are factored into training development plans for assigned business areas. â€¢ Participate in and supports a successful training/documentation effort. â€¢ Track and contribute to weekly reporting on training and documentation efforts, including documenting and tracking escalating issues that require management attention and resolution. Minimum Qualifications: â€¢ A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Instructional System Development creating process and training documentation for projects leveraging an agile or iterative development methodology â€¢ A minimum of four (4) years of technical writing experience. â€¢ Experience working with desktop publishing, word processing, and on-line documentation software with mastery over MS Office Suite. â€¢ Experience working with industry writing style such as grammar, sentence form, and structure. â€¢ Experience working with healthcare industry related software products. â€¢ Strong communication skills, personal computer and business solutions software skills. â€¢ Strong proofreading and editing skills. â€¢ Ability to quickly acquire and maintain an in-depth understanding of the affected business areas, program methodology and other internal processes needed to ensure a successful training outcome. â€¢ Ability to multi-task and work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. â€¢ Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels. â€¢ Strong verbal, written and presentation skills to effectively manage classroom training including addressing questions and effectively managing training time. Preferred Qualifications: â€¢ Masterâ€™s degree in Instructional Design. â€¢ Experience with the Healthcare and Affordable Care Act (ACA). â€¢ State and local government experience. â€¢ A minimum of two (2) years of experience using Adobe Captivate designing and developing eLearning. Note: The candidate must have the flexibility to work overtime, as needed, to include weekends, holidays, and off-hours.
