Job DescriptionCome help us guide developers in designing and implementing world-class voice experiences as they build skills for Amazon Alexa! We are looking for a technical writer to conceptualize and write the next generation of voice guides, tutorials, and technical articles for Alexa skill builders, helping to shape the future of voice.Collaborate with voice experts including UX designers, technical evangelists, and engineers to guide Alexa skill builders toward designing conversations between Alexa and customers carefully and intentionally. Conversational UI is a new form of interaction for many people, and you'll show people how to make great voice experiences that allow for the many ways to express meaning and intent.You'll also make it easier for developers to learn the art of skill building by creating end-to-end tutorials, and you'll showcase the technical details of the latest cutting-edge features of the Alexa Skills Kit, the collection of APIs, tools, documentation, and code samples that developers use to build skills.You're an excellent writer with strong editorial skills who has a passion for great user experience and a knack for simplifying and explaining technical concepts, and you're well-versed with designer and developer audiences. You should be comfortable multi-tasking in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, and you are a creative and analytical problem solver with a passion for delivering excellent documentation.
Bachelor's Degree in English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, Learning Technology, or related field
Minimum 5 years of experience writing documentation for technical audiences including designers and developers.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Passion to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
A proactive and open-minded attitude to resolving problems and delivering results
Expertise with markdown, HTML, CSS, and static site generators
Experience with UX and/or voice design
Experience creating eLearning and multimedia content
Ability to conceptualize technical and functional content into something creative that developers enjoy consuming
Experience writing for an international audience
Obsessive about technical accuracy
