The Data Analyst will be responsible for planning, designing, developing, implementing and administering Center for Digital Health Innovation s (CDHI s) cloud computing. S/he applies advanced cloud infrastructure concepts and CDHI objectives to optimize systems, migrate data, and ensure data integrity and optimal efficiency. As data architect and data steward, s/he designs CDHI s systems, data products and / or data production processes while focusing on data curation, data exchange, data security, data integrity and information environments while complying with UCSF regulations and industry leading practices.
As a member of the CDHI data science team, the Data Analyst participates in lab meetings and designs and performs data science analyses. S/he is able to distill complex concepts for executive audiences as well as detailed documentation for technical audiences in written, presentation or other forms of communication. Gives presentations to associated team and other technical units. Evaluates new technologies including performing moderate to complex cost / benefit analyses. May lead a team of systems / infrastructure professionals.

Required Qualifications: Bacheloru0027s degree in related area and five to ten years directly related experience, or equivalent experience / training
Advanced experience writing and editing the most complex scripts used to perform system maintenance and administration
Advanced knowledge of computer security best practices and policies including demonstrated experience securing most complex server-based software
Experience on deploying, managing, and operating scalable, highly available, and fault tolerant systems on AWS
Experience migrating an existing on-premises application to AWS
Experience implementing and controlling the flow of data to and from AWS
Knowledge on selecting the appropriate AWS service based on compute, data, or security requirements
Experience identifying appropriate use of AWS operational best practices
Experience estimating AWS usage costs and identifying operational cost control mechanisms
Ability to understand, implement, and automate security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation
Experience defining and deploying monitoring, metrics, and logging systems on AWS
Ability to design, manage, and maintain tools to automate operational processes
Knowledge of administering machine/deep learning platforms such as Hadoop, EMR, Spark, and GPU (e.g. TensorFlow)
Knowledge of, and experience with the BISQUE (****imaging informatics solution
Basic knowledge of how to apply technologies and systems to meet business needs
Ability to write technical documentation in a clear and concise manner
Understanding of system performance monitoring and actions that can be taken to improve or correct performance
Knowledge of the design, development and application of technology and systems to meet business needs
General knowledge of other areas of IT. Thorough understanding of and experience with systems-related issues and actions that can be taken to improve or correct performance
Demonstrated skills associated with adapting equipment and technology to serve user needs. Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of how system management actions affect other systems, system users and dependent / related functions
Demonstrated advanced knowledge, skills and abilities associated with system problem identification and resolution. Experience with design, configuration, operation, repair, and tuning of technology systems
Ability to elicit and communicate technical and non-technical information in a clear and concise manner

Preferred Qualifications: AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
AWS Certified Big Data Specialty
Experience leading a team of IT professionals
Experience as a system administrator of Windows Server and Linux based operating systems
Knowledge of how to implement and manage continuous delivery systems and methodologies on AWS
Ability to implement core AWS Big Data services according to basic architectural best practices
