Experis is partnered with a federal integrator in their search for a Technical Writer to join their team in Reston, VA to prepare, write, and edit IT documentation and reports including graphic presentation of information, which incorporates feedback from the specialists, analysts, programmers, and operations personnel. ***Candidates absolutely MUST have NIST experience as well as a strong familiarity maintaining and developing Systems Security Plans (SSPs)***Questions or interests, please email firstname.lastname@example.org today! Responsibilities: Interprets technical documentation standards and regulates quality documentation according to standards. Documentation is for both technical and non-technical personnel audiences. The candidate shall edit and review documents for appropriate grammar, spelling, punctuation, formatting and making corrections/recommendations for correction. This resource will be responsible for editing, proofreading and providing writing support on documents and sections prepared by leads to create a document's 'single voice' consistency for communications to the customer. Checking drafts for format, clarity and overall cohesiveness; ensuring documents meet editorial and government specifications; and adhering to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format and style. This resource interfaces with project teams and other groups in coordinating/preparing documentation, reviewing rough drafts, making suggestions, and finalizing documentation. Typical assignments would include (but not limited to) supporting ITO POMs with development or update of system documents such as CONOPS and System Security Plans (SSPs). This resource will also have the responsibility to provide general support in documenting technical information and other duties in a timely manner in support of Program/Project Managers, Task Leads or staff. Performs routine and non-routine tasks including special projects. Will interact with other staff to gather, supply, and/or coordinate information. Qualifications/Required Skills: Three years of technical writing and documentation experience is required. A minimum of one year must be in IT technical documentation. Excellent oral and written communication skills, collaboration skills to include obtaining information from contributors within short periods of time. Must have substantial knowledge of the capabilities of computer systems and demonstrate good communication skills and the ability to juggle overlapping tasks and priorities, work independently or under general direction only. Three or more years of working experience with Microsoft Office.
