Technical Writer (Amherst, Ohio)\r
Our client, the leader in precision dispensing equipment for applying industrial liquid and powder coatings, adhesives, and sealants, is currently seeking a Technical Writer. This position is a Contract without an end date.\u00a0\r
The Technical Writer will write, edit, and coordinate the printing of technical publications including product manuals, instruction sheets, documentation for engineered systems, field service handbooks, and other technical literature.\r
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\r
Writes and revises product manuals, instruction sheets, documentation for engineered systems, field service handbooks, and other technical literature\r
Assumes day-to-day responsibility for maintenance of major publications or product group documentation\r
Selects artwork for technical publications; assists in coordinating the production of artwork\r
Edits and coordinates the production of foreign language manuals for products\r
Assists in maintenance of technical communications files and information storage systems\r
Coordinates the review of internal and external technical publications to ensure the accuracy of text, completeness of information, and adequacy of warnings\r
Consults with Engineering and Marketing personnel to establish technical content and time schedules for manual publications\r
Checks artwork and graphics; coordinates publication and distribution of printed materials\r
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:\r
Detail-oriented, self-starter with strong communication and organizational skills. \u00a0The successful candidate will have a proven ability to multi-task and work collaboratively as well as independently in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment. \u00a0\r
Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university preferred\r
Minimum of (2) years of relevant experience, preferably six years of technical writing experience in an engineering environment\r
Editing and writing experience, manual writing experience\r
Experience with the various technology programs (Office, Adobe, Corel Draw, Quicksilver, html).\u00a0\r
PREFERRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:\r
Enthusiastic, highly organized, self-starter who is able to work with limited supervision, thrives in an ambiguous environment\r
Able to work well under aggressive schedules\r
Excellent written and oral communication skills\r
Time and project management\r
Basic knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, and electricity is preferred\r
Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings preferred\r
Knowledge of printing and printing process preferred\r
Experience with Adobe InDesign, Corel Draw Adobe Photoshop, RoboHelp and QuickSilver is preferred\r
Web, multi-media and graphic design experience is preferred\r
