Title: J.Crew Content & Copy Writer
Location: New York Office
Overview: J.Crew is looking for a highly motivated Content & Copy Writer who has a passion for words, editorial and building a story.
The Content & Copy Writer will collaborate with the design and marketing teams to develop concepts and copy for all promotional and crewcuts kids' collateral, including store, web and email communications. They will also create compelling digital content, such as social copy, Facebook ads, Instagram stories and video. The ideal candidate will have experience in and a portfolio encompassing each of these writing disciplines.
This applicant must also have a solid understanding of the promotional landscape, along with excellent organizational, collaborative and interpersonal skills to excel in this role. An ability to deliver concise copy while remaining flexible is a must. A strong knowledge of fashion editorial and seasonal trends is also required.
Primary responsibilities include:
Create promotional concepts and write copy for all channels, including email, site, store signage, social channels and digital ads. *
Partner with art director(s) to create effective and cohesive seasonal promotional campaigns, across all channels. *
Maintain awareness of dynamic promotional calendar (tracking cadence of sale events and emails), and work with performance marketing, planning and project management teams to update assets as required. *
Ensure the crewcuts brand voice is consistent, unique and an authority in kids' clothing. *
Create crewcuts story concepts and write copy for all channels, including email, site, store signage, social channels and digital ads. *
Partner with graphic designers and merchants to ensure crewcuts content supports major company goals and business needs. *
Develop strategies and create crewcuts content for emerging channels, such as video.
BS/BA degree or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform essential functions of the job (English, Journalism, Communications or Advertising preferred). *
2-3 years of relevant experience (advertising, marketing, publishing). *
Strong conceptual skills with knowledge of how copy relates to art, design, graphics and typography. *
Knowledge of promotional landscape. *
A passionate interest in clothing, seasonal trends and fashion editorials. *
Creative problem solving and excellent communication skills. *
Flexibility & time management: ability to multi-task, prioritize workload and take responsibility for deadlines. *
Ability to communicate his/her/their ideas effectively.
