General Summary: This is an exempt position, responsible for development, coordination, preparation, and distribution of various member and non-member communications activities including: management of Society social media channels and social media advertising, media relations and public relations, event and membership promotions, SLAS.org home page updates, SLAS Point-to-Point (SLAS P2P) weekly e-news brief, conference Daily News. Key relationships: u00a0SLAS Volunteer Leadership Chief Executive Officer Scientific Director Publishing Manager Marketing Communications Coordinator - Europe Service Providers Essential Duties and Responsibilities: General Create and manage production and publishing schedules; meet established deadlines. Ensure messaging integration, consistency and proper timing across all SLAS platforms. Track, interpret and respond to all available user analytics for SLAS communication platforms. Coordinate efforts with professional team members (e.g., marketing, administration, web, conference, education, scientific publishing and SLAS Europe). Professionally and appropriately represent Understand and work within established Create and assist in preparing status management reports. Maintain master reference files and archives of messages, collateral and design files. Social Media Develop, implement, monitor and assess consistent social media strategies for the Society. Monitor posts and responses to SLAS social media outposts/channels; respond as appropriate. Research, assess and engage existing and emerging social media sites and opportunities to maintain an appropriate presence for the Society. Plan, implement, monitor effectiveness, refine social media advertising and web-based campaigns. Currently include: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google AdWords. Manage Retargeting campaigns for major search engines Society Weekly E-News Brief Manage relationship with (Multiview) third-party provider of platform and advertising sales. Plan, research, write and secure approvals for Society-specific content. Create appropriate graphics and manage house advertisements. Review and approve all test e-mails before distribution. Society Web site and micro-sites Write content and oversee site utility and usability of SLAS.org and slas20XX.org (conference website) Work closely with external web provider on content development, CMS and maintenance needs. Media and Public Relations Author, route, gain approvals, edit and oversee fulfillment of Society media releases Cultivate relationships with key life sciences media contacts, proactively seeking opportunities for SLAS to contribute subject matter expertise benefiting the Society Manage press room at International Conference. Monitor Media Partner relationships, ensuring contract obligations are fulfilled. Manage press room at International Conference. Journal Promotion Author, route and oversee media releases, social media posts and other promotions stemming from SLAS Journal(s) content Support of Society Products and Services Plan and manage on-site daily e-newsletter for International Conference. Write, proofread and edit written materials upon request. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Outstanding reporting, writing, proofreading and editing Command of ACS editorial style Outstanding organizational skills, use of Teamwork.com to track tasks/milestones. Ability to manage a variety of working relationships (internally and externally) with a customer service Ability to manage multiple Flexibility and creative problem-solving Professional demeanor and commitment to sound business ethics and high levels of Commitment to staying informed of trends and best practices in social media communications. Basic functional competence in appropriate website applications (currently Mura). Ability to create simple graphics and videos for web and social media use. Education and Experience Bacheloru2019s degree in journalism, marketing communications, business management or related Two to four years of experience, preferably in the areas of publishing or marketing One to three years non-profit association management experience. NOTES: Telecommuting is allowed.
