If you want to make a positive impact in the lives of Oklahomans, join us at the Center for Public Management (CPM) because that is what we do daily.  CPM is a department within the College of Continuing Education at the University of Oklahoma.  We provide public sector agencies, staff, service providers, clients and community partners training, research and consultant support for professional and programmatic development.  We deliver cost-effective, customer-oriented solutions that are tailored to meet unique needs and situations.

The Writer & Curriculum Developer provides support to publicly funded clients of the Outreach Center for Public Management.

-- Assists in researching and developing curriculum and in writing and revising training manuals used by state agency personnel;

-- Assists with course design and with program content and methodologies;

-- Develops instructional and support materials to meet course objectives;

-- Assists in preparation of content and format for courses, conferences, and other training events;

-- Assists with the development of promotional materials;

-- Instructs or facilitates courses, conferences and/or other training events as needed;

-- Must be able to proactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships, focus on the customer and demonstrate high integrity

-- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education:

Bachelor Degree OR an equivalent combination of education/job related experience, AND:

18 months experience in curriculum development and/or instructional design

Skills

Ability to speak, read and write clear, concise English

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Ability to develop and revise instructional and support materials

Customer service

Ability to manage multiple priorities within deadlines

Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently without direct supervision

Certifications

None

Advertised Physical Requirements:

Must be able to communicate including expressing oneself orally and exchanging information with others

Ability to engage in repetitive motions including movement of the wrist, hand and fingers.

Departmental Preferences:

Knowledge of adult learning principles

Experience using Captivate and other educational technologies

Professional experience working with state government agencies.

No Supervisory Duties
