Technical Writer/Editor

Profile

This position requires experience writing/editing aircraft and commodity TO’s. This includes editing, design, layout, composition, and production of TO’s. Individuals must have a working knowledge of governing military specifications for all of the different styles of technical manuals. Must be knowledgeable of MIL-M-83495 OMMS style manuals.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Edits, writes and/or rewrites technical manuals
Review source data documents and incorporate source data from AFTO 22, 252 and e-mails
Interpret engineering drawings
Work with TOMA’s and ES’s to interpret accurate data for incorporation
Reviews changes and revisions per Military Specifications and Standards
Maintains tracking database and configuration management database
Job Requirements :
Specific Skills/Software:
2 years experience in production of Technical Orders
Excellent grammar and proof-reading skills
Ability to work well independently or in a team environment
Mandatory
: Thorough knowledge of Military Specifications and Standards. Specifically, MIL-STD-38784, MIL-PRF-38807, MIL-PRF-5096, MIL-PRF-38804, MIL-DTL-87929, TO 00-5-1.
