We seek a content writer who is steeped in search best practices and can produce tailored, targeted content to drive traffic and conversion. The ideal person understands how to work with the SEO team to research topics and produce assets for structured data and rich results.
While content for visible search results is the intention, the right individual will apply their creativity and savvy to the final asset and balance the brand elements for consistency.
SHOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE...
Sharp writing skills to craft the right topic, with the target keywords and persona in mind
Technical background - working familiarity with at least one database / coding language
Knowledge of search trends and the content and formats that will rank, be visible
Ability to write for structured data, rich results etc
Creativity that transcends the topic, format and product
Enthusiasm for feedback!
THE PROJECTS AND WORK
In partnership with SEO, create optimized web templates for the Knowledge Center
Create keyword-rich content for the Knowledge Center (5-8 per month)
Work cross-functionally to identify content needs for products and solutions pages (10-15 pages)
Develop messaging that’s human-centric and technically accurate
Recommend visual illustrations to support the page content
Create “FAQ” style content to bolster rich results in search (3-5 per page)
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...
5 years experience writing and editing copy for the web
3 years experience in an engineering role (software or hardware)
Experience hiring / overseeing other writers and editing their work
Strong technical writing skills
Thorough understanding of modern SEO practices and ability to implement them unaided
