WHAT WEVE GOT GOING ON
Our customer base is growing rapidly, and with that comes the need for us to continuously provide new content and methods for training our customers on how to realize value using the Looker platform. Looker is seeking a Technical Training Content Writer to help build and maintain new course materials and training content. Based out of Santa Cruz, CA, this role requires that you reside in (or are willing to relocate to) the Santa Cruz area and are authorized to work for any US employer without requiring visa sponsorship of any kind.
The Technical Training Content Writer is responsible for developing training content that helps our customers to better leverage Looker’s capabilities, features, best practices, and innovations in order to drive adoption, usage, and engagement. You will learn how to use our Learning Management Platform in order to review, update, and maintain course content and materials, to track user enrollments, and to review feedback and assessments. There will be opportunities to gain experience and grow into instructional design and training delivery roles.
WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO
Creating and update learning components including, but not limited to, student guides, slides, instructional videos, and associated quizzes and certification exams
Work with the training team, subject matter experts, and instructors to test training materials, sample data sets, and step-by-step instructions for instructor-led courses and eLearning
Review course content and documentation and ensure materials are up to date and relevant for a seamless experience within the team and for learners (e.g., course outline, digital pre-work and post-work, presentation materials, handouts, communications, participant guides, job aids, leader guides, etc.)
Utilize the LMS to manage content, capture program registration, and run reports on utilization and key performance indicators
Continuously monitor and solicit feedback on all training programs and materials to ensure accuracy, relevance, and effectiveness
Act as a backup facilitator for classes as needed
WHAT YOU BRING TO LOOKER
Bachelors Degree, preferably in Computer Science or a related technical field
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Interest in instructional design for instructor-led classes and/or eLearning and/or live training delivery
Ability to dive into software products and anticipate questions and issues that users may have
Intense attention to detail, even when the task is time-sensitive
Ability to problem-solve and resolve challenges in a timely, professional manner
Highly organized and able to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
Able to work both independently, and with a team, to meet deadlines
Ability to work with the challenges and opportunities presented in a start-up environment
Knowledge of the Looker platform and LookML a plus
