Assistant Writer Jobs description

An assistant writer position may be available with an editorial of a publishing company, media agency, an ITES company or an online marketing firm. An assistant writer is responsible for writing articles or booklets on given areas under the supervision or guidance of a writer. Specific duties of an assistant writer include gathering information on various areas, performing research on the area, coordinating with various departmental personnel, staying abreast with various rules and regulations in the area, working on several projects at a time, getting work approved by a writer, meeting project deadlines and performing other tasks assigned by the supervisor. An assistant writer typically reports to a writer.

An assistant writer should have an associate’s degree or a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Prior experience working as an assistant writer may be helpful. Excellent writing skills are essential for an assistant writer position.
